The Crimean Forum “The Book. Culture. Education. Innovations” invites organizations of science, culture and education

The Annual World Professional Forum “The Book. Culture. Education. Innovations” (“Crimea-2021”) will be traditionally held in the town of Sudak on June 5-13, 2021. Leadership and staff of libraries, publishing houses, book trade and book distribution businesses, museums, archives, information centers, universities, colleges, business, law, scientific, cultural, and educational institutions, and IT and Internet companies will attend the Forum.

The Forum will comprise:

Library mission in the digital era will make the key topic of professional discussions of the Forum events, including the 2021 International Conference «Libraries and information resources in the modern world of science, culture, education and business».

 

The Forum ambitious agenda meets the challenges of modern information era. The participants are invited to share their experience with digital educational technologies, in particular, that they gained during the pandemic; to dig into the operational principles of e-libraries, collections, open archives, and collection digitization; to discuss the issues of open access to information and knowledge, copyright and intellectual property protection, and international cooperation and partnership in library, information and educational space.

Other professional discussions are no less important. The library community will discuss the news in the global information infrastructure, national information systems and national libraries interaction. The industrial conference «Book publishing and libraries: Vectors of cooperation» attended by leading book publishers and book distributors also offers its vast and interesting program. Several special events will be also held within the Forum framework (TBA).

The status and development of automated library systems and technologies, e-library and online resources transformation, management, ecological information and ecological culture, scientometrics, bibliometrics, open data, science publications, etc., — these issues will make the agenda at multiple Forum sites.

This year, traditionally, the Forum will be attended by prominent scientists, popular writers, public figures, as well as by representatives of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, State Duma of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Crimea and other regional ministries, departments of culture and education of RF subjects.

The attendants will be also offered social program, i.e. guided tours, intellectual games, meet-the-artist events, etc.

Russian National Public Library for Science and Technology has been hosting the international library conference in Crimea since 1994; first in Eupatoria, then in Foros, and since 1997, the event has put roots down in Sudak. In 2015, its status changed, as the professional conference blossomed into the more large-scale and diversified forum to gather libraries and other organizations of science, culture and education under its aegis.
