Tours Schedule of International Conference Crimea 2012

On June 3 one-day tours will be organized for the Conference participants. The Organization Committee organizes two free excursions, and Tourist and Health Center Sudak organizes two paid excursions.
You can choose one of the offered tours and register on our website to reserve a place in the bus. Be careful when choosing the tour!
It is necessary to confirm you participation in the tour on June 2 during registration for the Conference.
Please, register for the tours individually and choose only one tour. If you would like to alter your choice, please be so kind to inform your registrator.
Number of people who can take part in each tour is restricted. When an excursion group is be formed for a tour, registration for this tour will be closed.
Tour 1. Waterfall Jur-Jur Temple and lighthouse in Malorechenskoye Museum of water accidents

Duration: 10 hours
Information for tourists: It is recommended to put on comfortable shoes and headwear. Tourists are also advised to take swimming-suits and photo cameras.

Tour 1. Waterfall Jur-Jur Temple and lighthouse in village Malorechenskoye Museum of water accidents
On the way to waterfall Jur-Jur you will visit the famous temple and lighthouse of St. Nikolay in village Malorechenskoye. It was build in 2007 by Haidamaki, architect. The temple is located near the road just above the sea, and it is one of the most beautiful and unusual temples of Crimea. Museum of water accidents is on the ground floor of the church. This museum is the part of Memorial complex In memory of those lost in waters. Expositions of the museum take 17 rooms, some of them look like a deck of an ancient ship, others like submarines holds. Strange sounds, murmurous dash of waves and intriguing guides story will leave a lasting impression.
Then you will visit waterfall Jur-Jur the deepest and noisiest waterfall of Crimea which doesnt dry up even in hot summer. In Tatar language Jur-Jur means gurgling. It is located on the east from Alushta in Khap-Khal clove at river Eastern Ulu-Uzen and of 15 m height. Near the waterfall there is cave Jur-Jur of 750 m in length. The road to the waterfall runs along eastern seaside to village Generalskoye. The path to the waterfall is very beautiful: there are many wooden carved figures and fresh air in the forest with beech, hornbeam, oak, linden, mountain ash, dogwood and nut-trees.
You can bathe under the waterfall steams but be careful water of the fall, lake and river is very cold even in hot days not more than 10-11 C.
Tour 2. Mount Taraktash Stone spine
Walks in the neighborhoods of Sudak is not just incomparable esthetic pleasure but also a bunch of rich air cocktails infused with aromas of healing herbs, juniper, pine needles and mountain flowers. After such hiking you will filled with liveliness, positive emotions and strength.
You are advised to go on a hike onto Mount Taraktash (Stone spine) which looks like a giant pangolin guarding village Dachnoye from its north side. This village was called Taraktash till 1948. This Crimean Tatar word means stone spine, it reflects appearance a a? mountain which is an ancient former coral head.
Walking along the spine of this wonderful cliff you will see the remains of a Gothic gord dated 1-2 AC, watchmen hideaways, Sudak, Lebanese and Iwanskaya valleys, reach village Dachnoye of interesting national color, identity, ancient history, cultural heritage, and many unstudied and unidentified items. Taraktash was often mentioned in the legends about Alim, famous Crimean bandit. There are a lot of traces of Genoeses life in the village. Parts of the village still keep colors of the ancient epoch old buildings and wells almost in a state of nature.
Tour 3. Taygan Safari-Park (Belogorsk) (for additional payment)
Taygan Safari-Park in Belogorsk was opened in 2012, it is the first park of lions in Europe. Near 50 lions were left on the territory of more than 30 ha of Crimean foothills. Parks of lions are usual for Africa, Tanzania, Kenia, but the idea to create such park in a splendid place of Crimea near picturesque reservoir Taygan was a new and a fresh one. Building of this park required to use a lot of efforts. Animals were collected from different zoo collections of Russia, Ukraine, Europe and even the Republic of South Africa for example, unique white lions - for more than five years.
Visitors of the park can watch the lions in conditions of inartificial nature. The visitors stand on special bridges over the territories with lions. Length of these bridges above the safari-park makes more than 1 km.
Except for the safari park with lions there is also a mini zoo for children and a permanent zoo with hoofed, mammals and birds.
Tour 4. Tour 4. Festive Sudak (Genoese fortress of Sudak & Massandra wines tasting) (for additional payment)
2012 is the year of 1800th anniversary of Sudak. You are invited to get acquainted with the most interesting peculiarities of the town its history and art of wine making.
Sudak fortress is called one of the most famous and outstanding monuments of history of Crimean peninsula. Mikhail Pogodin, famous Russian historian wrote: There are no ruins more picturesque than these: even Rhenish castles cannot be compared with them. Formidable fortifications located in two circles are still inaccessible. Many building of different times walls, towers, temples and barracks keep memory about many nations that left their traces here Greek, Armenian, Khazar, Turkish, Italian and Russian. During the excursion you will see fortifications of Byzantine, Khazar, Venetian and Genoese periods (6-15 centuries) including the complex of the main gates of the fortress, and upper and lower circles of defense, also you will visit the historical and archeological museum located in mosque; Consular castle, and famous Maidens tower (Kyz-Kulee). From the observation sites of the fortress you can admire wonderful views of Sudak town, sea and mountains Ai-Georgy, Alchak, Meganom and Perchem.
Sudak is a home of Russian wine trade tradition. You can assure yourself of this fact if you visit the territory of state enterprise factory-farm Sudak and taste famous Crimean wines.
