The Twenty Fourth International Conference “LIBCOM–2000”: “Information technologies, computer systems and publications for libraries” will be held online on the platform of Russian National Public Library for Science and Technology on November 24 through 26, 2020.

The Conference participants will discuss the prospects for information, computer-based and Internet-technologies in library practice, national and federal projects and programs by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, as well as innovations in modern education technologies, legal aspects of activities of libraries and information providers, e-libraries, digital information resources, library collections and services for the children, school libraries, etc.

Traditionally, the representatives of the RF Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the Ministry of Culture, representatives of the State Duma of the RF Federal Assembly, Vladimir Region administration and other top officers will greet the participants at the opening Conference session.

At the open sessions, the participants will get chance to discuss modern realities and forecasts for digitalization under the pandemic conditions, latent problems of Russian science journals, digital transformation of school libraries, technologies and digital resources for science and education, etc.

Multiple discussions will cover the widest range of problems and will be open for everyone. Within the discussion site ”Information technologies in library services for children”, the round tables will be held: “Online projects of libraries and publishers to promote children’s reading. Do we need more?” and “Children’s libraries 24/7: Challenges, accomplishments, experience”.

Within the framework of the Conference, the well-known experts and library scientists will deliver their open lectures: Yakov L. Shrayberg, Alexander M. Mazuritsky and Boris V. Lensky.

The results of the International Contest ”Sustainable Development Goals Calendar” will be presented; the RNPLS&T and V. I. Vernadsky Non-government Ecological Foundation will share the experience of their joint project.

Along with lectures, presentations and round tables, the special event ”IRBIS Automated Library and Information System — current status and prospects for 2021” will take place. IRBIS new possibilities, support modes and prospects for 2021 will be discussed.
