Размышления по поводу структуры Structural Considerations concerning the installation of a comprehensive Digital Mathematics Library Бернд Вегнер Bernd Wegner, TU Berlin Abstract: On one side this is a rather general report on the world – wide activities for installing the Digital Mathematics Library (DML), aiming at covering all mathematical articles available in digital form. This general part concentrates on the results and controversies, mainly discussed by the NSF-funded Planning Group for the DML. The main part of the whole project will concentrate on retrospective digitization. On the other side the report will address quite explicitely strategies and investigations to solve the basic problems combined with the DML: What should be considered as the comprehensive content? How could we determine all mathematical articles as precisely as possible? How can libraries help with this investigation in particular and with the preparation and storage of the digital contents in general? What could be an architecture for a world-wide distributed system of repositories composing the DML in an integrated offer? Answers to these questions are not exclusively related to mathematics. Solutions will be easily portable to other global subject oriented digital library systems.
